2020 Vision Part 3

Happy New Year to each and everyone and welcome to the new decade!

In the last post I promised that I would give an update on the carriage situation and explain what I intended to do with the burgeoning fleet of carriages that I had acquired over the last few months. As I explained in a previous post, I was planning on running carriages in fixed rakes so that there would be a theme for each train that I ran. At the time of writing I own 15 carriages in varying stages of completion. They can be formed into 5 rakes that can be accommodated at Effans Uchaf.

They are named:

VoR Set. Consisting 2 Dundas Vale of Rheidol style carriages.

NWNGR Set. Consisting 1 Dundas Vale of Rheidol carriage and a Bro Madog Observation Carriage.

Short Bogie Set. Consisting of 3 freelance bogie carriages.

Bug Box Set. Consisting of 5 Bug box style carriages of various builds.

WHR Set. Consisting of two Liliput Carriages 2070 and the new Pullman Carriage( Name TBD)

The hitherto unnamed set consisting of the Green Arrow Carriage which is undergoing full restoration/rebuild and liliput Carriage 2080

At present they are all of them in varying degrees of completion but the overarching theme here is that they all need some work doing on them to bring them to completion. It mostly consists of little jobs such as lining windows or finishing interiors. Jobs that can be fiddly but I hope will yield great results.

Exhibitions
In other news I have been invited to take Bron Effans for it's first ever exhibition at the Stockport Dual Gauge show on the 2nd of May at Stockport Baptist Church. I am very excited to share my little creation with the world and yet, very nervous about how it will compare to more finished examples of layouts. I have a lot to do before May but now that the Holiday season is over I hope that I will be able to dedicate more time to the layout. This vision I have for the layout will hopefully act as a list for me to focus on over the next few months before May.

I would like to take a moment to once again thank everyone who has read this blog. Bron Effans has been a learning curve for me but one that I hope has shown some growth in my modelling ability. I wish you all a happy 2020 and am excited to continue sharing my journey with you all. SW.
